Hi, my name is Dennis. I like blogging about the little things in life, getting distracted every now and then, being inspired and most of all, having fun - yeah! :D

1 Dec 09

And a good-fucking-night to you too!

I flew up to Brisbane last weekend with my parents and it was the first time I’d been there, despite spending several summers only an hour away on the Gold Coast. I must admit that from an arrogant Sydneysider’s point of view, I was extremely impressed with what the River City had on offer.

But enough of that. I now want to inform you that I’ll be M.I.A. from online social networking for a while. I hate having this constant urge of checking my Facebook and being disappointed with the stupid notifications I find instead. I don’t want to tweet about what I’m doing and letting strangers stalk me anymore. And I frankly can’t think of any more profound things to blog about here to impress you.

So I’ll see you soon, preferably in person. Text me so we can make a date ;)

“Exit Here” by Jason Myers
I wouldn’t say I’m an avid reader considering the last novel I’d read from beginning to end was Tim Winton’s “Cloudstreet”, my HSC English reading from last year (which BTW is really good!). So I was especially surprised that I’d stayed up till 3am last night to finish this one!
Long story short: college student returns home for summer break to the surprise of his rich family and close knit group of friends. He wants to turn his life around but no one believes him. Shitty decisions lead to shittier consequences and - read the book to find out more!
What I’ve learnt from “Exit Here” is that my life is VERY average compared to those of its characters - but at least I’m in control of it. I’ve also learnt that I should stay in touch with my loved ones and be there for them no matter what, because you never know when your whole life could be turned upside-down.
4 out of 5 stars from me :)

Update #002

hieusy:

It’s been weeks since my last drop of soft drink.
It’s been months since my last drop of alcohol.

Wow, at least you’ve got discipline though! I mean think of it this way: it’s better being sober than getting drunk and regretting the morning after =.=*

“Be Transformed” by the Sydney Dance Company - I haven’t seen any GREAT dance performances all year. Care to join me?

Spring cleaning for summer relaxing

I spent today vacuuming every speck of dust in my room; stopped at 4pm to jump into my pool, which was finally warm for once! And now, I’m chilling to the music I’d finished copying from my iPod, while a thunderstorm has just started outside! :)

So what did you do today?
